Our editor created this score from an original manuscript. We are currently alone to propose a piano-singing and orchestral parts.
Bomtempo is a Romantic musician, contemporary with Beethoven, a Portuguese by birth and who was known in his time for a European celebrity. But as his author, this very beautiful work, competed by other authors and other fashions, fell into the 'oversight.
At the time of its creation in 1820 it was possible to qualify this Requiem as a "real jewel".
This Mass of the Dead reflects this confidence by a often playful and fast pace, with contrasting effects and curiously modern accents, which oppose the ritually dramatic or tragic tone of the genre.
It is of great magnitude; a powerful romantic breath raises it and relies essentially on the choir, the soloists springing on the blades of background that accompany the orchestra.
