Raymond Alessandrini was born in 1948 in Koblenz, Germany. He began playing the piano at the age of five. His training is that of most classical musicians ending with a first piano prize in 1966 and chamber music in 1967 at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris, plus extensive studies in musical writing. In 1969, he met Michel Magne and became his orchestrator. Since then, he is very quickly asked as a pianist for different composers of film music (Elmer Bernstein, Lalo Schifrin, Georges Delerue, etc ...)

It is through Georges Delerue that he composes his first film music. Many more will follow along with many concert and theater works.
