Martial Caillebotte

In 1873, Martial Caillebotte was admitted to the National Conservatory of Music in Paris, where he studied piano with François Marmontel and harmony with Théodore Dubois, with whom he seems to stay connected. He obtained a second runner-band the following year. In 1887, Martial publish some of his work probably on account of author, the others remaining in the family. It was that little bit played and edited.

Although closely linked to the point of sharing the same apartment in Paris, the two brothers have their passions; painting and horticulture and shipbuilding for Gustave, composition and photography Martial, even if they engage in common to philately.

Most of the works of this composer remain unknown to this day despite their great qualities orchestration and harmonies.

Riou Benoit knowing the great interest of Michel PIQUEMAL to French music of that time contacted him to make him discover these unpublished manuscripts. Enthused by the talent and modernity of Martial Caillebotte, Michel Santos will first work "the solemn Easter Mass" that he will record with the Regional Choir Vittoria d'Ile-de-France and the Pasdeloup Orchestra in 2012. In 2013 musical publications @ diem is given some manuscripts for publishing. Thus a part of the work of this artist is now available in our catalog: A day (scenes for orchestra and choir) Dies Irae and Psalm 132 Ecce Quam Bonum for soloists, orchestra and choir.

These works are recognized in May 2014 by the Choir Vittoria d'Ile-de-France, the Pasdeloup Orchestra under the direction of Michael Thornton.
